School for the Deaf in the South East of Mauritania
The school has been built: two classes with an office in between for teachers and teaching materials. Over thirty children from the region are at present taught by two teachers. For three months an experienced teacher of Silent Work is present; he trains teachers in teaching deaf children. In the evening he teaches sign language to parents and others involved. The course material is created by our IT training in Mauritania and the school desks and chairs by Maison des Sourds, a project for deaf in the capital.
