Bread on the table

In our training center in Mauritania, Maison des Sourds, groups of deaf, unskilled youngsters receive practical lessons in baking bread and pastry for three years.

And for two days a week they follow courses in sign language, reading and writing and applied calculation. At the end of the training they are assisted in finding a job or starting up a business. This way they can ‘put bread on the table’ and earn a living for themselves and their families.
