In 2003 a healthcare center has been build in a small town in the north of Senegal. Women can visit the center for pregnancy checks, they can give birth there and post-birth care for mother and child is available. A number of often occuring diseases like diarrhoea, malaria, tropical ulsters and wounds can be treated here. Many horsedriven vehicles loaded with women and children from a large environmental area do visit for advise and treatment.

In the region Komera, where we started a reception centre- and educational project in Komera, for deaf children, traumatized children and children with a mental disability, live many seriously handicapped children who cannot attend these options. Those do receive home care by a professional carer. Medical care is offered and educational support for parents.

From 1996 -2008, 12 small and 10 large homes have been build for widows of war, who do care as well for orphans outside the family. These widows are offered support by providing goats and employment in the studio.

Since 1995 as much support as possible has been offered to the needy children. F.e. medication for Aids, eplilepsy, psychiatric diagnoses, and special adapted shoes, wheelchairs and fysiotherapeutic equipment.

This Healthcare Center has the possibility to supply day care by a physician, a midwife and an assistent in the furnished pharmacy, all in acknowledgement to the contribution by the ( outside the house, in foreign countries) employed local population.

In 2006 the Healthcare center was build, partially with financial support of locals who are employed in foreign countries. This center offers care for 3800 inhabitants.There is provided for a room for daycare and meals for toddlers and very young children who need extra nutrition are included. This room is also used for information about health, rearing children and hygiene, etc.

In this centre account has been taken of a well furnished consulting room, a very well to clean waiting room for patients and a surgery. Shower and toilet have been realised outside, but easy to reach. A herbal garden has been started. F.e. patients have been registered for cataract and had surgery in a large city, but receive their follow up and checks here. Cooperation with the larger hospital is very well managed.

In a small city of 20.000 inhabitants in the Sahara a health care centre has been build and furnished. It contains a pharmacy, sickward, and a roof in terrace where family of patients can cook their meals, stay for the night and wait.

This centre offers care for the city and for the (ex)slave villages nearby. A physician and nurse attend daily.

This Healthcare Center is situated alongside the only asphaltroad in the region. Most of it financed by locals who are employed in foreign countries. Silent Works support has been to lay a watertube network and the tiling of the complete center with assistence of our co-ordinater.

From the start up till now, we provide individual support for people working for Silent Work and inhabitants of villages where we start projects, untill they can be selfsupporting and finance it themselves (mostly in about 5 years).

Support includes all types of medical needs, from supplying paracetamol to recovery operations, wheelchairs or artificial limbs.

Yet we can call it now: a successful surgery.
She presently participates very active in the family and the environment.
