Silent Work build in 2005 in a large village a center for different activities, amongst others: a 3 year training to become a tailor. An important skill because traditional clothes are worn by many men and women in Senegal. 25 Girls were trained and are now self employed or started in small groups their companies. They co-operate with the women of the tissue-dye training. They can use the machinery in the center.

In the south of Senegal a training center for informatica has been build in 2006. 25 Pupils of the secondary school receive education in informatica for one year. After receiving their certificates they can use this for further training and they will have more opportunities on search for jobs. This center has created other departments to obtain an income: internet, leaflets, visiting-cards, creating invitations and writing letters and if necessary translate in English and French.

In 2003 we set up an agricultural project together with 50 women of different small villages. With our support they rented land and a waterpump. We doubled their profits during 5 years so they own a waterpump now and another group posesses their own land, thus enlarging the profits. These women have a good income, with support of their husbands and sons.

In 2003, 10 cows and 50 sheep and a charriot and horse were provided for a mauritanian refugee camp in Northern Senegal. The option to visit a veterinarian was available. In the following years by co-operation this herd multiplied to a large herd of cows and sheep. It provides income and independence for this amount of mauritanian refugees who are permanently settled now in Senegal.

This multifunctional center has been build in a large village. To be visited by villagers and people of environmental areas. It contains an area for informatica, an atelier for material dying techniques and one for dressmaking, a percussion/djembe course and a space for selling the created products. Differing unions can gather for meetings and providing information.

Immediately after the war in 1995 we started constructing a separate space for the many widows in this region. Here they could meet and share their feelings and problems and also start a small scale production. Sewing machines have been bought and in Rwanda obligated school uniforms are made. The other opportunity is to create trendy and traditional clothing, directed by an african professional.

We started in 2009 with the installation of solar energy in the village where we developed in 2002 a water-tower, layed on a network of watertubes, -metres and village taps. We also build a school, healthcare centre, a studio for women and a youth centre.

The water-tower provides now every day, by the installation of 75 solar panels, in between 100.000 > 150.000 l of clean water. The school is able to connect a computer. Women are able to buy a specialised electric sewingmachine for mosquito-nets. Youngsters hope to start an informatica education in 2010. The healthcare centre has acces to light and a solarenergy coolingbox to preserve vaccinations. Clean, sustainable and not expensive. The money saved by all his, will provide for other needs in the development of the village, without outside support.

In 2008 we started a sewing studio for women in a village, at far distance of the main road. We build a large room for them, furnished with sewingmachines, ironing facilities (charcoal irons) and material to dye the tissues. 30 Women earn their living as such.

Toyota, our truck, acquired brand new in 2002. This strong fourwheeldrive truck with a special Sahara adjustment against extreme heat, made our jobs possible. We can reach practically any area, as well slave-villages in the Sahara. We do transport as well the sick, fellow employees, materials and sheep or goats and of course: ourselves.
