In 2008 a group of children, the Twa’s (pygmees) can attend school. The chief put forward a request for education and in solid cooperation with him most of the Twa children in this area receive education. Special care is offered in regard to their differing language.

dance group for traumatized youngsters

In 1999 the amount of traumatized youngsters was huge. We offered 40 to start a dance group. They are trained in traditional dance by professionals, who are also approachable for other issues. The studio for widows (raised by Silent Work) made their costumes. Since 2002 they perform throughout the country.

A school with 3 classrooms offering a careful start preparing primary school teachings. A small goup of Twa children ( they have a different language) receive education here to make up for the arrears of language. They are of different age. It is most important to educate these children as well.

In 2008 a school with 12 classrooms has been build. In each classroom contains at least 60 children. That is why over 800 children can attend school. Parents pay a very small contribution, to guarantee the school’s maintenance. This is the third large school build by Silent Work in this region.
